Molecular Delusion - Ramases - Space Hymns (Vinyl, LP, Album)

  1. Again the record fared poorly, but Ramases' musical vision continued expanding and, in , the duo signed with Vertigo. Recorded at Strawberry Studios in Manchester, the ensuing Space Hymns LP remains one of bassist Graham Gouldman's favourite sessions, out of all those that the future 10cc undertook during the early '70s. "It was great.
  2. The modal, chant-style "Molecular Delusions" is a pretty ominous depiction of Ramases' quite interesting belief that "We are most probably existing on a molecule inside the material of, perhaps, a living thing in the next size up," though it's repetitive and seems to go on a bit too long/5(31).
  3. The next song "Molecular Delusion" is probably the most religious-inspired of all of the Space Hymns on the album. It's an acid-tinged song George Harrison might have recorded during one of his more meditative moments after visiting the Indian guru, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

  8. Ramases’ second and last album, Glass Top Coffin (), is better than the first, in my opinion: trippier but also more focused, with stronger production and gorgeous arrangements—a near perfect translation of the inner-outer space excursion. The Space Hymns album cover is a six-panel gatefold, by the way, painted by the master, Roger Dean.
